It is estimated that over one million pets wind up in animal shelters every year and are euthanized because they are never reunited with their owners. This sobering statistic can be reversed if more pet owners were able to microchip their pets. In an effort to continue it’s mission to remove barriers to responsible pet ownership, the Santa Maria Valley Humane Society offers low-cost microchipping Mondays and Wednesdays, by appointment, at our spay and neuter clinic.
Cats and dogs are welcome. The fee is $25 per microchip, per animal; $20 if you are an SMVHS member. This fee includes online registration of the microchip with the owners’ contact information.
In addition, each and every cat and dog in our adoption program is microchipped and registered to their new owner upon adoption. This service is included as part of the adoption at no additional fee.
